Fluoride

In Office:

Recommended twice a year regardless of age – higher concentration than what we can offer for in-home use.

  • Especially important for children while teeth with undeveloped enamel are erupting into the mouth
  • Reduces tooth decay
  • Protects around crowns/bridges/root surfaces
  • Decreases tooth sensitivity
  1. Fluoride Varnish : 5% Sodium Flouride **CUTTING-EDGE DELIVERY**
    Applied with a brush technique. Remains on the teeth 4-6 hours for longer release time. Allowed to eat and drink immediately afterwards.
  2. APF Fluoride (Acidulated Phosphate Fluoride)
    • Applied in foam form in trays
    • Patient sits with foam filled trays on teeth for 4 minutes
    • Nothing to eat or drink for 30 mins afterwards
  3. Neutral Sodium Fluoride
    • Light mint flavor
    • Recommended for adults with extensive crown & bridge work or veneers

Take Home Fluoride:

Daily application of Fluoride at home for patients is always recommended for patients that require more protection. Recommended products from our office surpass anything available over the counter at a local drug store.

  1. Control RX Toothpaste 1.1% sodium fluoride toothpaste
    • Helps decrease root sensitivity, gingival inflammation and tooth decay
  2. PerioMed Fluoride Rinse .63% stannous fluoride
    • For those who prefer a rinse
    • Also a treatment for gingival inflammation, sensitivity and tooth decay
  3. Just for Kids Fluoride Gel .4% stannous fluoride gel
    • Brush-on gel provides strong cavity protection
    • Ideal for children with recurrent cavities, tooth decalcification and gum irritation
